After the holidays it can be difficult to get back out in the studio especially this time of year. It's pretty cold and snow is expected soon. I am lucky to have a warm studio which can be quite inviting when the heating goes off indoors in the morning. I am working on some quite small paintings at the moment, well they are a mixture of acrylic paint and paper collage, and I find that if I work small I can experiment easily without that great expanse of canvas in front of me. The smallest are 10 x 15 cms.
There is a possibility that I may have a little show in Japan in the summer so that's another good reason to get some small works done. My last show there in 2011 included several small collages which were popular as in Japan not everyone has alot of space.
